Job Summary:
The Inventory Coordinator plays a vital role in managing the daily operations of inventory at Sharing Excess. This position will be responsible for efficiently managing incoming inventory, ensuring accurate data input, maintaining up-to-date records, and helping to optimize inventory processes. The Inventory Coordinator will collaborate with team members to streamline workflow, assist in training, and ensure smooth coordination across departments. Additionally, this role will include tracking food donations and assisting with logistics to ensure timely and accurate deliveries to our partner organizations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Management: Efficiently manage incoming inventory and ensure accurate and timely data input into the system.
  • Data Tracking: Measure impact by weighing and tracking all food donations in the Sharing Excess App to ensure proper allocations and deliveries.
  • Operational Leadership: Take a leadership role in overseeing day-to-day inventory operations and ensure high standards of performance and accuracy.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow, streamline inventory processes, and implement strategies to improve efficiency.
  • Team Training & Mentoring: Assist in training and mentoring team members to maintain a high standard of performance and operational efficiency.
  • Inventory Trends & Reporting: Monitor and analyze inventory trends, providing insights for decision-making and process improvements.
  • Allocation Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to meet demand, optimize resource utilization, and ensure inventory levels are balanced and aligned with needs.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and communication, ensuring that inventory needs align with program goals.
  • Fleet Management Support: Collaborate with the Program Manager and Operations Manager to assist in managing truck schedules and fleet operations, maintaining a clean truck for pickups and deliveries.
  • Logistics Coordination: Help manage truck schedules for incoming and outgoing deliveries to optimize routes and ensure timely pickups from vendors and deliveries to partner organizations.
  • Physical Demands: Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds, operating warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, and being on your feet for extended periods while completing repetitive tasks.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in inventory management, logistics, or warehouse operations, with a preference for experience in food rescue, supply chain management, or similar fields.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management systems and software. Experience with food rescue or warehouse management systems is a plus.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Ability to stand and be on your feet for extended periods and perform repetitive movements daily.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to track inventory trends and improve operational processes.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate with team members, contribute to training efforts, and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly document processes and share information across teams.

Physical Requirements:
  • Equipment: Experience with pallet jacks and forklifts is preferred for handling produce and inventory.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Movement: Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive movements (bending, lifting, carrying items).
  • Work Environment: Expected to be on-site at the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market (PWPM) in the mornings for operational tasks and then work remotely for the remainder of the day.

Compensation:
